Dr. Manrriquez was vice chairperson of the ethics committee for the Orange County Dental Society from 1990-1992.
Dr. Manrriquez is the author of the "American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) Conflict of Interest and Continuing Education Integrity Guidelines", written while Dr. Manrriquez was the founding Chairperson of the Industry Relations Committee of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Written and adopted 2014.

Infection control in our office is vital. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Training & Expertise
Dr. Manrriquez is a Board-Certified Orofacial Pain Specialist- he is a clinician, researcher and dental educator. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Orofacial Pain Residency at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California. Dr. Manrriquez also lectures in the Orofacial Facial Pain Continuing Education Program for the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. He is the Research Director of the Translational Research Institute of Southern California. The mission of the Translational Research Institute of Southern California is improving patient outcomes through translational research and health literacy. Dr. Manrriquez has served as a reviewer in the Systems Biology and Bioengineering study section of the USC Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. Manrriquez has also served as a reviewer for the Communication and Dissemination Research Program of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. He is a past Council Member and Chair of the Industry Relations Committee of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain as well as a former co-chair of the Program Committee for the 2017 American Academy of Orofacial Pain Scientific Meeting. Dr. Manrriquez is a former Board Member and former Program Chair for the Osseointegration Study Club of Southern California.
Dr. Manrriquez has an Orofacial Pain and restorative practice in Fountain Valley, California. He provides diagnostic and non-surgical treatment services for the Orofacial Pain needs of patients of referring doctors. He is the former Research Co-Director of the Clinical Research Foundation, based at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The Clinical Research Foundation provided continuing education to dentists in the anatomic, imaging, surgical and restorative disciplines.
Dr. Sal Manrriquez received both his Bachelor of Science as well as his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1985. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, as well as a Fellow of the American Headache Society. He has presented to both national and international audiences on biomechanical and osseointegration issues of dental implants, Orofacial Pain disorders as well as morphologic/imaging issues in clinical decision-making.
Dr. Manrriquez has published research on Orofacial Pain/Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD), Headache, Restorative Dentistry, and Health Disparities in Vulnerable Populations.
Dr. Manrriquez is a member of the International and American Associations for Dental Research, the American Headache Society, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the Academy of Osseointegration, as well as a number of other professional dental organizations.
